RSVP & SCP MLK Day of Service Project
Dr. Suess Book Drive
Our focus for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service every year is education. This year we are hearing that our younger children are struggling with reading. As remote learning left our children with virtual instruction, which was very different and new to children and parents alike. Additionally, families had limited access to materials like books because of library access limitations due to COVID. This year RSVP and SCP MLK Day of service includes a Dr. Suess book drive for children in grades 1st through 3rd. While out shopping, we would be grateful if you can pick up one or two Dr. Suess books to donate to children as part of our day of service. For questions, please call Kimberly at 217.935.2241 or Angie & Kathy at 217.428.6616. Books are accepted at our office now to January 19, 2022.
Macon County books will be donated to the American Dreamers STEM Academy while DeWitt County donations will go to Douglas Elementary.
