Homeward Bound Case Manager

The Homeless Case Manager is responsible for arranging supportive services for homeless individuals and families who are living in emergency shelters and transitional housing in the Decatur area. Under the direction of the Homeward Bound Client Services Coordinator, the Case Manager implements a system for delivery of services to clients in a manner that uses existing resources and that leads to self-sufficiency and permanent housing for clients. Examples of such services include: housing, job training, employment, education, budget management, bankruptcy, legal matters, DCFS, personal counseling, independent living skills, health care, parenting skills, and substance abuse treatment.

Financial and Housing Counselor

The Dove, Inc. Financial and Housing Counselor is responsible for providing one‐on‐one counseling sessions to agency clients consistent with the organization’s vision and in compliance with regulatory/funding requirements. The Counselor ensures counseling service quality by adhering to agency policies and procedures, managing related data collection and reporting, and fostering continuous improvement. The Counselor also effectively supports integrated programs as assigned. To fulfill these roles the counselor must have good interpersonal skills, possess a working knowledge of finances/credit, be an effective problem‐solver, and be able to convey suggestions/ideas in a constructive, nonjudgmental manner, must be organized and efficient in time/work management.
